Chapati noodles

Are you bored of the roti-sabzi and crave some noodles but trying to resist the urge to eat it thinking that you would sabotage your efforts to eat healthy and lose weight? Fret not, we got you covered with a healthy yet super tasty recipe to enjoy noodles sans the guilt and loaded with nutrients. Huh! Is that even possible? What if we told you, it is indeed possible. Wouldn’t that be a win-win situation? If you said yes to the above question, then you are at the right place as we present you chapati noodles. This dish needs good old chapati and some vegetables that you probably already have in your pantry.

We have used Indian spices to give it an Indian twist. However, you can choose to prepare it with sauces (soya sauce, red/ green chilli sauce), vinegar and spring onions to prepare like the usual noodles.

 



Serves: 5 people

Ingredients:

Cabbage- 500 gm 

Carrots- 2 (medium- sized)

Capsicum- 2 (medium- sized)

French beans - 250 gm 

Onion- 1 (large)

Ginger- garlic paste- 1/2 tsp

Red chilli powder - 2 tsp

Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp

Pepper powder - 1/4 tsp

Garam masala- 3/4 tsp

Salt- to taste

Oil- 2 tsp

Chapati- 10 no.

Tomato sauce (optional)- 5 tsp




Method:

1.     Shred cabbage, cut onions, capsicum and carrots into long strips; and beans into 1 inch pieces. Keep them aside.

2.     Heat oil in a pan/ kadhai. 

3.     Add cumin seeds, let it crackle.

4.     Add onion, saute till translucent. Add ginger- garlic paste and turmeric powder, saute till the raw smell disappears. 

5.     Add chopped cabbage, capsicum, carrots and beans and mix well. Add chilli powder, pepper powder, garam masala and salt. Cover the kadhai and cook for 15- 20 minutes. Mix in between. 

6.     Switch off the stove once it is done. 

7.     Take chapatis one by one, fold them in half and cut them into long strips using a knife. 

8.     Take a big mixing bowl and add chapati strips (noodles) and sauteed vegetables. Mix well together.

9.     If you prefer a juicy taste, then add in tomato sauce and mix well.

Chapati noodles are ready! Enjoy!
