Serves: 2

Ingredients:

Bread slices- 6

Besan/ gram flour- 75 gm

Onion- 1 medium

Cucumber- ½ big/ 1 small

Cumin powder- ½ tsp

Green chillies- 1 no. (finely chopped)

Ajwain- a pinch 

Salt- to taste


Method: 

1. In a bowl, mix besan, ajwain, green chillies, cumin powder and salt. Add little water and mix well to get a batter like consistency. 

2. Slice onion and cucumber and keep them aside.

3. Heat a tawa. Grease it with a few drops of oil. Pour a ladle of batter and spread it to make cheela. Turn and cook on the other side as well.

4. Make 2 more cheelas. (The batter makes a total of 3 cheela)

5. Toast bread slices with oil or ghee, as per your choice. 

6. In a plate, keep a toast, place 3-4 onion slices. Then fold cheela twice. Add 4 cucumber slices on top of cheela. Then, close with another bread slice. Cut it into half and serve it.

Notes:

This sandwich tastes good on its own. You can serve with mint chutney or ketchup for added flavour (optional).

This recipe makes 3 sandwiches (each using 1 cheela and 2 bread slices), perfect for 2 people with one sandwich to share or save for later!
