Banana shake

Hello everyone,

Sharing banana shake with a twist in it!

Most of us would have tried the regular banana shake with or without the addition of nuts. But, have you tried adding garden cress seeds aka haleem ke beej/ aliv (in Hindi)? If not, why not try it now! Addition of seeds make this milkshake super filling and healthy. The best part is that this milkshake does not have any added sugar and we let the natural sweetness of banana to shine :) 



Serves: 2


Ingredients:

Banana- 2 

Milk- 400 ml 

Garden cress seeds - 1 tbsp 

Pumpkin seeds- 2 tbsp 


Method:

  1. Soak garden cress seeds in water for 2 hours. 
  2. Roast pumpkin seeds and keep it aside.
  3. Chop banana into chunks and add it to the mixer jar. Grind it into smooth puree.
  4. Now, add some milk and pulse it once or twice to blend it well. Then, add the remaining milk and mix well.
  5. To serve, take 2 glasses and add soaked seeds. Then, pour the banana shake.
  6. Top it with roasted pumpkin seeds.

It is ready to be served!




Did you know? Garden cress seeds are a rich source of iron. 100 gm seeds provide 17 mg iron.


Notes:

  • You can replace pumpkin seeds with sunflower seeds or chopped nuts of choice.
  • You can replace haleem seeds with soaked chia seeds or basil (sabja) seeds.
